Jacksonville Fl. – According to a statement made on the school’s Facebook page, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a charter school on Monday after several pupils came into touch with “seasonal bugs” near the playground.
The playground at BridgePrep Academy of Duval, which is located on Atlantic Boulevard adjacent to University Boulevard South, has reportedly been closed, and the school has alerted the parents of the children who were bitten by the insects.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department informed Nick Gibson of Action News Jax that they do not yet know what kind of insect attacked 27 pupils and their instructor at the school.
According to the firefighters, the youngsters were bitten on either their legs, their chest areas, or their arms.
Everyone who was ill was confined to one section of the school to get medical attention. According to JFRD, no one required medical attention as a consequence of being bitten by the bugs.
According to JFRD Chief Keith Powers, there is no evidence of a bug infestation in the surrounding region.
“There haven’t been any bugs that we’ve observed. It all began with a class of fourth graders who were playing outdoors on the playground when a few of the kids started complaining about having itchy skin. “It went from there,” he added.
According to a statement that the school made on Facebook, JFRD was able to address the issues that were raised by the parents.
