After going missing for more than a week, a guy from California was discovered alive.
On June 11, Lukas McClish, 34, was reported missing by his family, according to social media posts from authorities. His last sighting was on foot in the Santa Cruz neighborhood of Boulder Creek, dressed entirely in black.
Several witnesses reported “hearing someone yelling for help” near Foreman Creek, off an area roadway, at around 3 p.m. local time on Thursday, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office on social media. Upon their arrival at the location, deputies and other officials verified that McClish had made the call for assistance.
Before officials tried to reach McClish on foot, they employed drones to pinpoint his precise location in a secluded canyon. Ranger for state parks first encountered McClish. At that point, firemen could help to get him to safety. Officials may be seen in photos gathering near a heavily forested region.
Boulder Creek Fire Protection District Chief Mark Bingham told the Santa Cruz Sentinel, a local news outlet, “There are no trails, no roads, several miles from the closest place to a road, which the closest road that we got into, we had to four-wheel drive probably a quarter of a mile in and then we couldn’t go further.”

According to Bingham, McClish required help to hike out of the woods, but the sheriff’s office reported that he was reunited with his family and did not sustain any serious injuries.
McClish had been out in the weather for more than a week, according to the Boulder Creek Volunteer Fire Department, which posted on social media.
“About 10 days he survived in the wilderness, essentially, drinking out of the creek and eating wild berries,” Bingham stated to the Santa Cruz Sentinel. “For the most part, he was disoriented and lost and surviving off of the land, which is pretty impressive to say what a tough individual he was or is.”
