Authorities in Hartford, Connecticut, are looking for a man who they believe shot and killed a 20-year-old mother and her 4-month-old infant Tuesday while they were sitting in their car. The incident appears to have been a drive-by.

According to Hartford police, a warrant has been issued for Lance “Macho” Morales, 23.

Morales is not in arrest, but he is charged with two charges of murder, murder under special circumstances, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree assault, and first-degree criminal attempt to conduct assault. A $3 million bond has been set for Morales.

Hartford police stated in a statement on Wednesday that “many law enforcement agencies are working together to try to capture Morales.”

After receiving a report that a car had arrived with many shooting victims, police said they were called to Hartford Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

At the hospital, Jessiah Mercado and her son Messiah Diaz were declared deceased. Police reported that another victim, who was in his 20s, had a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. There were no injuries to the car’s driver.

According to police, investigators concluded that the shooting had taken place just before the suspect vehicle drew up alongside the victims’ vehicle and started shooting.
