Daring Act: NYC Store Guard Fires Back at Armed 15-Year-Old Thief

Following the teenager’s threat to abduct and shoot her, a security guard at Burlington Coat Factory opened fire on an armed aspiring shoplifter who barged into the store on Sunday, according to reports.

Cops and law enforcement sources say that at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, the 15-year-old youngster was among four masked troublemakers who were denied entry into the store located at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Wortman avenues in East New York.

The 60-year-old security guard, a former police officer, was warned by them that they would return to kidnap and shoot her after they were expelled from the clothes store for refusing to remove their masks.

The sources claimed that the young threat did indeed reappear as promsied, however with a gun in his hand this time.

According to police and reports, the adolescent gunman fled and escaped after the guard fired three shots at him. However, the sources claimed that on Monday, cops apprehended the teenager. The sources state that he was taken into custody and accused of burglary and menacing.

A request for response from a retail chain official was not immediately answered.

Authorities reported that the murder occurred about three months after a 15-year-old immigrant allegedly wounded a tourist and fired at a police officer during a botched robbery at a JD Sports store in the center of Times Square.

According to the most recent NYPD figures, retail theft has increased by around 6% citywide so far this year, with 19,475 such occurrences reported through Sunday, compared to 18,397 during the same period in 2023.
