The real amount of money up for grabs for each applicant depends on a variety of criteria. Although there are add-ons that can increase the maximum rebate to $1,000, the typical amount is $650.

To be eligible for this reimbursement, you must fulfill the following requirements.
- Possess 65 years of age or more.
- Be widowed or widower individuals fifty years of age or older Be disabled individuals eighteen years of age or older

Starting on July 1, the Treasury Department will start mailing rebates to those who have been approved. Therefore, in order to guarantee prompt processing and payment, qualified candidates must submit their applications by June 30.
