Authorities in Colorado have detained a guy they believe killed a lady he met on Snapchat by choking her to death.

On August 1, at around 2:30 in the morning, a man called the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to ask for a welfare check on an unresponsive woman who lived in a house in the 13000 block of Halleluiah Trail. When the ambulance arrived, the woman was pronounced dead.

Deputies detained 26-year-old Jorge Meza-Alarcon Jr. for first-degree murder following multiple interviews.

The victim, 18-year-old Annabelle Floren-Wyant, was located inside the house by the deputies, according to an arrest affidavit that was obtained by the Colorado Springs Gazette and the local station KKTV. The girl had blood on her jeans and underwear around her ankles, as well as near her ear.

According to reports, one of her pals went to the house at around one in the morning to drop Floren-Wyant off so he could “collect money” from Meza-Alarcon. According to the affidavit, Floren-Wyant asked the buddy to stay in touch via text after feeling uneasy about Meza-Alarcon. After roughly ninety minutes, the friend stopped receiving her messages, so he called the police.

Meza-Alarcon was discovered by police roughly three miles from the house with obvious facial injuries. He allegedly admitted to detectives during an interview that he paid Floren-Wyant for sex and that they met on Snapchat.

According to the affidavit, he initially stated he was going to fetch the money to pay her after she allegedly struck him with something—possibly a phone—knocking him unconscious. After that, he awoke around three miles away and reported the attack to 911.

However, he is said to have altered his account later in the interview. According to reports, he was concerned about an idling car outside the house and Floren-Wyant’s persistent messaging of someone, as well as her previous threats against him.

He “instantly went to a leglock but transitioned to a ‘D’arce’ chokehold which he demonstrated on the floor of the interview room,” according to the affidavit, claiming he was afraid of being attacked. After that, Meza-Alarcon left her behind and went outdoors.

“Jorge was asked if he knew Annabelle was dead when he left the room and he stated ‘without checking her pulse…’ and said he ‘knows how to do locks,’ because he ‘likes to train,’ and he knows when the chokehold is used ‘you only have 2-3 taps in you,'” the arrest affidavit reportedly stated.

Meza-Alarcon was taken to the El Paso County Jail by deputies and is currently being held there on a $1 million bond. Thursday is his planned court appearance. He was detained in February, according to KOAA, after strangling a dog to death and disposing of its remains in a dumpster.
