A suspected shooter who is still at large has been named by the authorities as the reason behind the death of a teenage girl who was shot during a big house party in May in Northborough, Massachusetts.

The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday that Erik Coelho Dos Santos is wanted for murder in connection with the death of Bellingham resident Ygor Correia, 16. A wanted poster for the 20-year-old who was last known to reside in Brockton was released by them.

Coelho Dos Santos’ location were unknown, therefore anyone with information was encouraged to contact the Massachusetts State Police confidential tip line at 508-4553-7589.

According to police, a big celebration honoring a woman’s 21st birthday on Howard Street was interrupted by gunfire. Two other teenagers were hurt in the altercation, and a second youth was shot. There had been three prior arrests for firearms offenses.

The date that investigators secured the warrant for Coelho Dos Santos’ arrest was not disclosed by prosecutors on Tuesday. As of Tuesday, Northborough and state police were still looking into the shooting.

Authorities say that someone waved down a Northborough officer to report that someone had brandished a pistol, alerting police to the shooting at the party.

When more than twenty officers arrived at the residence after that officer requested backup, they heard gunfire. When police arrived, the two teenagers had been shot.

Correia was taken by two cops down the hill from the property to an ambulance that was waiting for him, but at UMass Memorial, he was declared deceased. Two other partygoers who were hurt in the altercation, along with the 17-year-old who was shot, were transported to Marlborough Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, a number of other injured youths and young adults chose not to receive medical attention.

Earlier this year, Pedro Desouza-Passos, 27, of Rockland; Wallisom Texeira Da Silva, 20, of Hyde Park; and Arnoldo Nogueira Filho, 19, of Marlborough, were arraigned in Westborough District Court on counts related to guns.

While Nogueira and Desouza-Passos were detained on cash bail, Texeira Da Silva was detained without bond. Their attorneys stated that the material provided by the prosecutors did not clarify the reason for the stop of their car, with one suggesting that the case could be dismissed.

Based on criminal allegations submitted to the court, they were in a car that a Southborough police officer had stopped over. Prosecutors say that the woman whose birthday party it was had been driving when ammo was discovered in two black purses—one a Gucci—that were in the back of the car.

Up until just before the incident, according to the neighbors, the neighborhood had been largely quite quiet.
