The goal of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, is to enable those who are less fortunate to purchase the food they need in order to obtain enough amounts of high-quality nutrients.
Benefits of the program, which is referred to as EBT in the rest of the US, are distributed in Texas via a Lone Star card that can be used at any participating retailer.

The final two digits of your Eligibility Determination Group number, or EDG, which may be found on official SNAP documentation, are used to determine when payments are made in Texas between the first and the 28th of every month.

Though they are distributed on the following business day if they fall on a Saturday or Sunday, SNAP payments in Texas are not made on weekends.
An initial issuance adjustment period is in place until the benefits of households whose applications are certified more than 40 days prior to the planned monthly benefit issuance date.

The precise time varies by state, but generally speaking, SNAP and cash benefits show up on your card between midnight and 8 a.m. on the deposit date.
