In only 19 days, many beneficiaries will get their December Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment, up to $943. The Social Security Administration (SSA) claims that these benefits are given to those whose income is significantly impacted by a disability.
In order to be eligible, a person must be at least partially blind or suffer from a medical or mental illness that could cause death or severely impair their everyday activities for a minimum of 12 months.
SSI beneficiaries can get up to $943 per month for individual claimants, up to $1,415 for couples, and up to $472 for necessary caregivers.

Since January 1 would be a holiday—New Year’s Day—the payments would be issued on December 11, 18, and 24, and the SSI will arrive on December 31.
