This year, beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive payments on an irregular schedule. Recipients got two SSI checks in May, but they won’t get any money in June. This is why, and what’s in store for the remainder of the year.
SSI benefits are distributed by the Social Security Administration (SSA) on the first of every month. The payment is made on the final working day of the preceding month, albeit, if the first falls on a weekend or holiday.
June 1st fell on a Saturday in May, when this incident occurred. June payments were therefore distributed on Friday, May 31. As such, there won’t be any more payments sent in June.
Looking ahead, August will bring about a similar circumstance. The SSA will distribute September payments on Friday, August 30, due to September 1 falling on a Sunday. As a result, receivers in August will get two payments.

The dates you should anticipate receiving your SSI benefits for the balance of 2024 are shown below to assist you in keeping track:

Who is eligible for Supplemental Security Income?
