Double Take: Woman Finds Huge Lottery Prize After Initial $50 Win

During her break in Maryland, a grocery store clerk believed she had won $50 on a scratch-off lottery ticket. Upon verifying, she noticed that the award had increased significantly, so she asked a colleague to corroborate.

In fact, the mother of two won the top prize of $150,000, according to a news release from the Maryland Lottery dated June 20.

“I thought, ‘This can’t be real,'” she stated to lottery officials.

The Salisbury woman called her husband to share the news once she had verified her award.

He stated to lottery officials that, “It was so hard to believe that she won, because I am the one who plays. I had to see it for myself, so I immediately drove to her work.”
