Prior to the Republican National Convention, California has dispatched sixty-one law enforcement officers to Wisconsin in order to offer assistance.
The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Service oversaw the coordination of the request for the extra support, which had been planned since May.
Forty personnel of the California Highway Patrol as well as police officers from the departments of Bakersfield, Fresno, and Long Beach are being sent to Milwaukee.
“Public safety transcends party lines. California is proud to support our law enforcement colleagues in Wisconsin during this important political event. Working together, we are helping to provide a safe and secure environment for all participants at the Republican National Convention,” California Governor Gavin Newsom stated.
Together with federal, state, and local law enforcement, officers will work. Public safety, traffic management, and crowd control are among the responsibilities.
