A man, aged 39, from Hawthorne, lost his life on Friday afternoon when his pickup truck flipped over in Alachua County.
According to the incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 1 p.m.
The man was driving southbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck near the 9200 block of Holden Park Road in Hawthorne.
The FHP mentioned that, for reasons yet to be determined, the pickup truck veered off the road and onto the east shoulder. Subsequently, the truck overturned, causing the man to be thrown out of the vehicle.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and rushed the driver, who was the only occupant of the pickup truck, to UF Health Shands Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Florida Highway Patrol did not disclose the driver’s name.
