Help is being sought by the FBI to identify a well-dressed bank robber they have named the “Derby Desperado.” The suspect hit banks on July 3 in Garland and July 12 in Dallas.
A stocky white male with green or hazel eyes, thick dark eyebrows, and light or white skin, the suspect is approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, according to the FBI.
The individual donned a dark suit, brown shoes, and a light-colored fedora hat with a dark band during the robberies at the Texans Credit Union, located at 7220 Telecom Parkway in Garland, and the Capital One Bank, located at 2903 Forest Lane in Dallas.
He wore a black shirt and a light or yellow tie for the Dallas robbery, according to the FBI, while wearing a white shirt and a dark tie for the heist in Garland. In addition, he was wearing blue surgical gloves and a white KN95 (COVID) or surgical mask.

The suspect entered the Texans Credit Union in Garland at approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 3, talked loudly on his phone as he approached the counter, and gave the teller a demand letter, according to the FBI. He got money, got out, and drove off in a dark SUV.
Similarly, he produced a demand letter and drove off in a dark SUV during the Capital One Bank heist in Dallas. The FBI stated that the robbery happened on July 12 at approximately 1:45 p.m.
