Fishing Trip Turns Deadly as Shark Attacks Man in Florida

According to officials, a man was fishing in Florida when he was bitten by a shark, seriously hurting his arm.

According to Alicia Tarancon, a spokesman for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, the attack occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on Friday at West Rock, close to the port of Fernandina, which is north of Jacksonville close to the Florida-Georgia border. The man, who is in his 40s, was aboard a boat at the time.

According to Tarancon, a responding deputy got into the man’s boat and used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding in his right arm.

Rescue personnel were waiting for the boat once the deputy maneuvered it to the coast, according to Tarancon.

According to Tarancon, the victim was airlifted to a hospital and was in critical condition. Tarancon stated that his recovery is anticipated.

This incident occurs after a prominent lifeguard and surfer was murdered on Sunday in Hawaii by a shark.

Since 2016, Tamayo Perry, 49, has worked as a lifeguard with Honolulu Ocean Safety. His official bio on his coaching site states that he was a local surf coach and a former Pipeline Master Trials competitor. Perry starred in episodes of “Hawaii Five-O” and “The Bridge,” as well as the 2002 film “Blue Crush,” according to IMDb.
