The most recent significant winner that the Florida Lottery has publicized is from Pasco County.
A scratch-off game called “$1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular” awarded Ray Chavez, age 58, the grand prize of one million dollars.
The winner, a resident of Zephyrhills, claimed his award at the headquarters of the Florida Lottery in Tallahassee.
Chavez decided to collect his award in a single payment of $640.000.
The winning lottery ticket for one million dollars was purchased by him at Publix located at 32765 Eiland Blvd. in Wesley Chapel. As a reward for selling the winning ticket, the retailer will earn a bonus of $2,000.
A scratch-off game called “$1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular” costs $50 to play.
The two highest rewards, each worth one million dollars each year for the rest of one’s life, have not yet been claimed.
In addition, there were a total of 234 awards of $1 million, 203 of which have not yet been claimed.
