Florida Showdown Marjorie Taylor Greene Defies Shutdown in Controversial Move

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican Representative from Georgia, responded to those trying to silence her by saying she’s going ahead with her book-signing event, even though the original venue initially canceled it.

In a video message, Greene said, “The Communist Democrats tried to shut down my book signing.” “They lost!” Her combative remarks were a direct reaction to the Westgate Resort’s last-minute decision not to accept the event, which they claimed was because they didn’t know what it was about.

She referred to the cancellation of her event as “modern day book burning!” in a another post.

Mark Cross, the chair of the Osceola County GOP Committee, who was in charge of the gathering, agreed with Greene. “While some in the media have stated the event has been cancelled, that is false,” he stated. “The show must go on, and we are looking forward to welcoming Marjorie Taylor Greene to Orlando tomorrow.”

It appears that the debate surrounding the event strengthened the resolve to carry it out. However, not everybody holds this opinion. State Representative Anna Eskamani (D) of Florida chastised Greene and the Republicans for remembering the violent uprising on January 6.

“Just another day in Florida where the local Republican Party in Osceola County is hosting a ‘anniversary’ event to mark January 6th and Marjorie Taylor Green is the ‘special’ guest,” Eskamani posted to social media. “Was really hoping this was a joke when I first saw it.”
