Florida Weather Alert Cold Temperatures Expected to Return – Here's the Forecast

WPBN: With freezing temperatures in the 30s and freeze warnings in effect in the state’s northern regions, Floridians who love the cold may think winter has already arrived.

The National Weather Service Mobile/Pensacola office predicts that frigid north winds will continue to bring cold weather to Florida for the remainder of the week, with low temperatures once more predicted to fall into the 30s over the majority of the state.

Frost advisories are in effect from Daytona Beach on the east coast to Homosassa Springs on the west coast, and freeze warnings have been issued as far south as Ocala.

The cold front’s intensity will last until Tuesday evening before easing off a little on Thursday, when a high of roughly 70 degrees is predicted for Northwest Florida. Thursday night, temperatures will dip once more, and they will remain low until roughly Sunday.

How chilly is Florida going to get?

The lowest temperatures will occur in North Florida, with lows of up to 39 degrees recorded in the Pensacola area and lows of roughly 36 degrees in Jacksonville on Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service says Sunday will see temperatures near 70 degrees, starting to warm up later in the week.
