Florida Woman Faces a Further Lawsuit After Biting Deputy During DUI Stop

On Saturday, a woman from Florida who is 60 years old was taken into custody for biting a deputy officer as the officer was checking her for DUI. According to the reports, the Deputy’s injuries were not life-threatening in any way.

Deborah Bennett Odom is facing charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer and DUI.

The investigators from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office say that they pulled down a red Range Rover SUV near Mile Marker 82 at approximately 3:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a careless driver and observing the vehicle swerving on United States Route 1.

The driver, identified as 60-year-old Odom, seemed drunk and smelled like alcohol, according to the deputies.

According to the investigators, she resisted the deputies and attempted to unhook her seat belt when she was being transported in the patrol car.

After being arrested, she bit and kicked a corrections deputy while she was being held in the Monroe County Jail.

She’s currently in custody with a $10,000 bond.
