From Donuts to Disarray: Man's Rampage Escalates to Roadside Ruckus and Curbside Chaos

After getting into disputes with employees inside a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in Coral Springs, Florida, and then getting into arguments with drivers of other vehicles outside of the restaurant, a guy is now facing various charges, including violence on a police officer and of a lady.

On May 11, officers with the Coral Springs Police Department responded to reports of a guy acting erratically near a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant located at 2290 Coral Springs Drive. The man was later identified as Zacharie Deme Dalpe, who lives in Miramar and is 28 years old.

According to the records, witnesses told authorities that a person wearing a white t-shirt and tan jeans was acting aggressively, pushing over garbage cans, and threatening people. The male was eventually recognized as Dalpe.

When officers from the CSPD arrived at the site, they found Dalpe standing in the midst of Royal Palm Boulevard traffic and yelling at passing vehicles. According to the report, as the responding officers reached the scene, a store employee pointed to Dalpe and remarked, “That’s him,” verifying that Dalpe was the individual about whom witnesses had phoned the police.

Officers tried to de-escalate the situation by telling Dalpe to take a seat on the curb, but he ignored their many pleas and continued to talk on the phone even after they ordered him to stop.

During the course of the police’ interaction with Dalpe, a female victim approached them and, through her tears, said that he had pushed or touched her in some way. The report indicates that cops soothed her and asked that she wait to be interviewed while they sought to get Dalpe under control. They also requested that she wait to be interviewed.

According to the papers, Dalpe was placed in handcuffs when additional law enforcement officers arrived at the site because he did not comply with their directions. Nevertheless, while he was being placed in the trunk of the officer’s vehicle, he started kicking, which caused severe damage to the panel on the driver’s side of the rear quarter.

The investigation conducted by the officers after Dalpe was taken into jail found that before to their arrival, he had gone by the female victim and made inappropriate physical contact by squeezing her right buttock without consent. This information was discovered after Dalpe was taken into custody.

It was reported in the arrest record that Dalpe spat on authorities when they were tying him to a gurney at Broward Health Coral Springs. This led to a further battery charge being filed against a law enforcement officer.

After receiving medical treatment and being given the all-clear, Dalpe was taken into custody and charged with assault on a police officer, assault on a victim, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

Dalpe was taken into custody and taken to the main jail facility for Broward County.
