An individual implicated in the demise of three individuals and the attempted murder of two more in 2018 has been declared guilty as per the charges, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
On July 31, 2018, Selvin Fabian Salazar opened fire on his pregnant girlfriend and companions, killing one, critically wounding another, and then executing his fellow gang member who assisted him in getting away from the scene. He was found guilty of these crimes.
Salazar was found guilty last week on three counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder in addition to felony counts of carjacking, witness intimidation, and possession of a firearm by an unauthorized person, according to the D.A.’s Office.
Salazar got angry and opened fire on the group of friends and his girlfriend while they were at a Gardena trailer park, according to earlier reports.
According to officials, he fired shots at a car that had Dolores Sanchez, 28, and Saith Pedraza, 37. Pedraza sustained injuries that changed his life and ultimately led to his death two years later, while Sanchez perished in the incident.
Along with the 24-year-old lady who was briefly hospitalized, Salazar’s pregnant girlfriend, who was 23 at the time, also sustained injuries.
Salazar opened fire on the car, then he and his companion Francisco Montes—who had already been shown to be a fellow gang member—and Montes’ wife fled the scene.
At the time, investigators said that Montes and his spouse were coerced into assisting Salazar in his escape against their choice. Authorities claimed that after the three arrived in Lynwood, Salazar resorted to violence.
Salazar shot and killed Montes while the three were in the car, then made an attempt to kill his wife. According to law enforcement officers at the time, the pistol malfunctioned and the woman was spared.
After abandoning his victims on the side of the road, he ran away, sparking a 36-hour manhunt that culminated in his capture in his hometown of Inglewood.
After being charged with the rampage, Salazar, who is currently 32 years old, was found guilty more than six years later.
The conviction, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney George GascĂ³n, gives the victims some degree of justice and described the individual shootings as a “devastating situation.”

“Our hearts go out to the victims and their families, who have endured such imaginable pain and loss. No verdict can ever fully heal the wounds caused by such senseless violence, but we hope the case’s outcome provides some solace and a sense of closure,” GascĂ³n stated.
Salazar will be sentenced on October 23 in the Torrance Courthouse. A life term without the possibility of parole is anticipated for Salazar. Homicide investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department looked into the matter.
