Taking advantage of grassroots enthusiasm throughout Florida, the Harris Campaign staged its largest “mobilization blitz.”

In Lee County, a phone bank was conducted on Saturday to solicit support for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.

Inside the Democratic Party of Lee County in Fort Myers, volunteers answered phones and got to work. Getting people to support Kamala Harris, their new presidential candidate, was their aim on Saturday afternoon.

“We are so proud of her,” one supporter stated.

In addition, they stated that she supports “reproductive rights” among other things. Everyone should be treated equally. The Lee County Democratic Party’s interim chair, Jim Rosineus, expressed satisfaction with the increase in support.

He stated that, “The number of people who have either called up or just come into the office to volunteer has been ahead of anything we’ve done in previous weeks—by miles.”

And one of those new volunteers is Richard Osman. Osman declared that he does not support former President Donald Trump, the party’s nominee.

“I don’t like him at all. He represents pathological lying to me,” Osman stated.

He therefore chose to switch sides. Another volunteer, Kathy Hughes, expressed her opinion that, now that Osman is running for vice president, more people will follow suit. Hughes clarified that she was beginning to doubt President Joe Biden’s chances of winning another term.

“It seemed like there were so many things that were going wrong and after the debate, it just was spiraling,” she stated. “And it seemed like we were in a, I don’t know, this like deadlock…and then Kamala!”

There’s no denying that Vice President Harris will face challenges during the next four months, particularly from Donald Trump. Bring it, the volunteers instructed. They’ll take care of the phoning, and Harris will run the campaign.

Statewide, volunteers took nearly 6,500 calls on Saturday alone. Since Harris declared her candidacy, the party has reportedly received 10,000 additional volunteers, according to a spokesman.

The festivities will carry on into the weekend all around Florida.
