Hearse Heist Gone Wrong: Homeless Man Hospitalized After Five-Car Accident!

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A man is in the hospital after he stole and crashed a hearse, which caused a five-car accident in Gainesville.

The car was taken from Chestnut Funeral Home around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The driver took it 3 miles down NW 8th Avenue, where he crashed into four other cars.

None of the victims were hurt badly.

Officers say that the homeless man who stole the hearse is now in the hospital.

The family of Alachua County Commissioner Charles Chestnut and Gainesville City Commissioner Cynthia Chestnut owns the Chestnut Funeral Home.
