Three suspects in an international stealing ring, according to police detectives, spied on families in a Braintree neighborhood by hiding a camera in some shrubs.
Three people—Carlos Ocampo Carrillo, Lizeth Hernandez, and Johana Parra Morales—have been taken into custody in relation to an alleged plot to break into homes.
According to investigators, the individuals have ties to South American theft groups, another name for organized international theft groups. According to detectives, they’re all from Colombia.
A video shows home invaders scuttling around
After setting off the alarm twice on June 20, the burglars were shown on camera scuttling about the living room of one of the victims’ residences.
The family wanted to alert people to be on the lookout but is too scared to reveal their identities.
“It’s really, really terrifying honestly … you wouldn’t think that it would happen to you, it’s really, really shocking,” the victim stated.
The fact that the robbers knew just when to attack is even more terrifying because, according to the authorities, they had been spying on the family across their Messina Woods house with a little camera tucked away in the bushes.
According to investigators, it was a component of a larger home invasion ring operation.
They “camouflaged the camera into the bushes”
Even though Kailynn Needle saw the camera hidden in the bushes, she didn’t believe there was any dishonesty going on.
“I was like this is weird why would you have a camera there, because they have a Ring camera so it was just weird that it would be in the bushes,” Needle stated. “It was standing up facing up so it would face the house and it had duct tape around it so that it would be camouflaged into the bushes.”
However, authorities believe the three suspects behind the crime ring were apprehended because of another neighbor who noticed the camera and phoned the police.
“The irony of it is that I saw these people several times and I don’t remember all that much about them, kind of just a passing thought. Walked by them, waved, didn’t hear anything from them and didn’t think much of them,” neighbor Dan Lake stated. “Only until after all this happened that I think, ‘wow it’s scary that those were the people who were likely watching this house for an opportune time to rob it.”

Police launch a sting to apprehend burglars in Braintree
In order to trap the suspects, authorities claim to have set up a surveillance mission. The victims drove to Logan Airport after the police ordered them to pack up and act as though they were going on a little holiday.
Indeed, undercover cops observed a man returning to the hidden camera-equipped home wearing an all-black outfit, a mask, and a rucksack.
It was during a foot pursuit and scuffle that the suspect was apprehended by investigators. A getaway car also had two more arrested women.
“I would feel better if like other people in the group gets caught, and stop burglarizing other people’s homes,” the victim stated.
The suspects are accused of multiple burglaries, according to the police. In addition, the male suspect is accused of violence, assault, and resisting arrest.
