House GOP Intelligence Chair Makes Stunning Statement on Trump Indictment!

Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) said on Sunday that everyone should “let the criminal process play out” after former President Trump was indicted in an investigation into an alleged “hush money” payment.

Turner, who is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, was on CNN’s “State of the Union” and talked about how frustrated he was with people on the left who were happy about Trump’s indictment.

Turner told host Dana Bash, “It’s really unfortunate that you see a lot of people on the left, even in op-eds that have been written and posted on CNN’s website, celebrating that the president is being charged and then listing a long list of complaints that have nothing to do with this case, which is about things that happened long before he was president.”

Turner also said that he thinks Trump’s indictment was “politically motivated,” and he said that everyone should let the criminal process work out in this case.

“Really, I think we should all just let the criminal process run its course. Turner told Bash, “I do think this has to do with politics.”

“It’s one thing to have a culture of giving up. It’s a different thing when the criminal justice system is broken,” Turner said. “And I really hope we’re not going to do that.”

On Thursday, a grand jury in New York voted to charge Trump with arranging a hush money payment to an adult film star while he was running for president in 2016.

The indictment, which is still secret, is based on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s (D) investigation into the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels just before the election.

In November, Trump announced his third run for president at his Mar-a-Lago estate. He is now the first president, living or dead, to be charged with a crime.
