Investigation Underway as Man's Body Discovered in Jacksonville Pond

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported the discovery of a body in a pond in the Grand Park area on Tuesday morning.

Around 9:30, the police were called to the 3300 block of Nancy Street after a passerby spotted the body, just north of the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

The body was rescued from the pond by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, which arrived on the scene and utilized a boat to do so.

It has been determined by the JSO that the dead is an adult male, but the age range is currently unknown.

In accordance with the JSO, the individual did not appear to have any obvious injuries, which means that the cause of death cannot be identified.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Dive Team will soon retrieve the body from the pond, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an investigation into the man’s death.
