Police in the Hamptons have arrested and charged singer Justin Timberlake with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
At 12:37 a.m. on Tuesday, Sag Harbor Village police reported that Timberlake ran a stop sign and veered into an oncoming traffic lane.
The pop star was traveling on Madison Street in a gray BMW XM from 2025 when he failed to stop and stay in his designated lane of traffic. Timberlake “was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,” according to police, when they pulled him over.
According to the criminal complaint, police discovered Timberlake was operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He also had bloodshot, watery eyes and “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” coming from his breath. According to the lawsuit, he also spoke more slowly, walked unevenly, and did badly on a field sobriety test.
According to the criminal complaint, Timberlake admitted to the arresting officer that he had only had one drink.
After being detained all night for his arraignment, 43-year-old Timberlake was freed on his own recognizance on Tuesday morning.
On July 26, he is required to virtually appear in Sag Harbor Village Court.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., stated, “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations.” I’ll speak up when the time is right, but for now I’m waiting on the District Attorney’s office to provide me with all the details.”
On his “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” Timberlake will play two performances in Chicago this weekend and two in New York City the following week. The tour is in support of his sixth studio album, “Everything I Thought It Was.”
Before going solo in 2002, Timberlake originally saw enormous success as a member of the boy band *NYSNC in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Selling millions of copies, “Justified,” his debut album, had the huge songs “Cry Me A River” and “Rock Your Body.”
In addition to hosting the MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, he has won four Emmys and ten Grammys. Timberlake’s hit song “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” from the movie “Trolls” even earned him nominations for an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
