According to new court documents obtained by KFOR, the bodies of two horrifically murdered Kansas mothers were discovered inside a chest freezer in a cow pasture.
In April, Oklahoma state authorities put a stop to their search for Jilian Kelley, 27, and Veronica Butler, 39.
When the couple’s automobile was discovered abandoned close to the Oklahoma-Kansas border on March 30, they were last seen leaving to pick up their kids. Authorities suspected foul play in this incident.
The bodies of Kelley and Butler were discovered in a chest freezer following a two-day excavation of a burial location in a cow pasture, according to search warrants submitted to the court on May 15.
In relation to the women’s disappearance, investigators revealed last month that Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44, had been placed under arrest.
Not long after the first arrests, Paul Grice, 31, became the fifth suspect.
Court records state that Grice questioned a witness about the longevity of DNA on garments in the dirt—a hole that was fifteen feet below the surface. The same witness was questioned by Grice, it was also reported, about “how to get a guy and his family” to Mexico.
According to reports, the warrants also stated that information that connected the suspects to the killings had been found on the phones of several of the accused.

The four were members of “God’s Misfits,” an anti-government group with religious ties. Grice’s involvement in the anti-government group was unclear.
Adams, one of the detained women, is Butler’s children’s grandma, according to reports. Adams and Butler’s children were embroiled in a custody battle, according to court documents. The father of the children resides in a recovery center.
According to the affidavit, Butler’s custody fight started in February 2019 and continued “with many hearings and court appearances”; in the weeks preceding her death, “motions were filed requesting extended visitation for Butler.”
