Earlier this week, a surprising agreement was made between the PGA Tour and the Saudi Public Investment Fund, causing a major stir in the golf world.
The merger involves both LIV Golf and the DP World Tour joining forces with the PGA Tour. However, this decision has faced significant scrutiny, particularly from families of the 9/11 victims who strongly object to the partnership.
Jimmy Dunne, who played a key role in spearheading the merger alongside PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, had a message for the concerned families.
He stated that if he were to discover anyone’s involvement in planning and executing the September 11 attacks, he would personally take action against them.
Dunne emphasized that, based on his conversations with knowledgeable individuals, he firmly believes that the individuals he is dealing with in the merger had no connection to the 9/11 attacks.
He went on to express that if anyone can provide concrete evidence of someone’s unequivocal involvement in 9/11, he would take matters into his own hands without delay.
This statement serves as one way to rationalize the decision to partner with the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
