Authorities have recognized a robbery suspect who exited a car at the end of a high-speed pursuit through Los Angeles while carrying his 2-month-old kid.
According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, Daiyaan Henderson, 21, was taken into jail without incident on charges of kidnapping, endangering a child, and avoiding a crime. The jail records said that he was being held without bond.
According to officials, the incident started with an armed robbery in Beverly Hills. Around 5:40 p.m., Hawthorne police discovered multiple suspects in a car, and they began chasing them.
Sheriff’s officers were called in for aid by Hawthorne police as the pursuit continued into South Los Angeles.
A little while later, the driver in South L.A. pulled over, and three men leaped out of the vehicle and fled. Two of the suspects were taken into custody and were given over to Beverly Hills police when the police established a containment.
However, the third suspect swiftly fled in a different car, a Kia sedan, and there was yet another chase.
A robbery suspect led police on a risky, high-speed chase through Los Angeles on Wednesday before emerging from a car carrying his 2-month-old baby.
At the time, deputies thought he had stolen the car. It was only after that they learned there was another woman in the car with her small baby.
The driver of the Kia fled on surface streets in the downtown Los Angeles area, dodging cars, running red lights, and occasionally turning into oncoming traffic. The Kia once reached speeds of 60 to 70 mph on Culver City surface streets.
In Blair Hills, the suspect ran into a dead-end road and became stuck. A heated standoff that lasted for several minutes was caused by deputies blocking him in from the back.
Subsequently, it seems that the guy started telling investigators he had a baby in the car. The guy was seen on camera in the driver’s seat with the tiny child on his lap by AIR7.
A few moments later, a woman with the infant in her arms came out from behind the rear seat. The driver got out as well, giving the mother and child hugs before she approached the cops.
After following the cops’ instructions, the suspect was handcuffed. Subsequently, deputies revealed that the suspect was the child’s father.
The mother can be heard yelling at the suspect to pull over and warning him that he was endangering the kid while he appears to be livestreaming the chase.
There was no arrest made of the woman. According to authorities, deputies changed the newborn girl’s diaper, fed her, and gave her medical assistance. After a period of weeping, the infant went to sleep and was reported to be in good health. Her mother received her release.
The toddler was under the supervision of deputies Adriana Martinez and others.

“I was just thankful I was there,” Martinez stated. “My concern was the baby. She was crying and I wanted to comfort her. My motherly instincts kicked in. I tried to soothe her, stop her from crying. We ended up taking care of her. It was great to be there. It made me feel like I was holding my daughter when she was small.”
“It’s crazy to think that not only is this guy driving like a madman, not only does he have his two-month-old daughter in the car and his child’s mother, but he’s taking the time to get on his phone and livestream the whole thing,” Deputy Tony Lomedico stated. “It goes beyond words when you meet an individual like that.”
