An inventive method for fans to receive complimentary festival tickets this summer by performing community service has been revealed by Bumbershoot and Amazon.
The Bumbershoot Gives Back program was unveiled on Wednesday during a gathering at the food bank operated by Asian Counseling & Referral Service (ACRS) in Seattle.
Through Bumbershoot Gives Back, festival goers are able to engage in meaningful community service projects and receive festival tickets as a reward for their work. Through the campaign, 2,000 two-day tickets to Bumbershoot 2024 are available.
Several prominent figures attended the announcement on Wednesday, including G. De Castro, the deputy director of ACRS, Taylor Hoang, senior community engagement manager at Amazon, and Camilla Walter, executive director of Third Stone, the nonprofit arm of Bumbershoot.
Additionally, a number of Amazon volunteers unloaded a delivery truck full of food donations to support the ACRS food bank and other food security programs throughout the Puget Sound region.
In addition to demonstrating the partnership’s potential impact on local communities, the food delivery by Amazon volunteers marked the symbolic beginning of the Bumbershoot Gives Back program.
The campaign aims to recruit thousands of volunteers and distribute 90,000 pounds of food to food banks in the Seattle area.
