Windsor High School implemented security precautions on Thursday afternoon. According to Superintendent Dr. Terrell Hill, a student was allegedly threatening to cause the school to go into lockdown at 12:10 p.m.
“A student overheard a concerning comment between two other students and immediately reported it to a teacher,” Superintendent Hill stated. “The teacher then notified the School Resource Officer, who promptly informed the Administration and the Windsor Police Department.”
According to a message distributed to parents and staff, a student’s threat and assertion that they were in possession of a gun caused the lockdown.
We located and spoke with the affected students. A weapon was not discovered.
“Once the threat was resolved, the school transitioned to Code Yellow (normal teaching and inside activities only), allowing students and educators to return to more typical operations while maintaining heightened vigilance,” Superintendent Hill stated.

Parents expressed their displeasure at not being notified in any way during the occurrence by school officials.
According to Superintendent Hill, he bears complete accountability for the correspondence sent out to parents and staff at the appropriate times.
He emphasized that the district’s first goal continues to be ensuring the safety of its employees and kids and added that it is constantly working to improve its ability to provide real-time updates in circumstances like this.
On September 24th, from 10 AM to 11 AM, Superintendent Hill and Dr. Hill will be holding a coffee talk for anyone with concerns.
