Maine Authorities Continue Hunt for Missing Girl Last Seen Four Weeks Ago

Authorities from the state and federal government are still looking for a child from northern Maine who vanished about a month ago.  Despite a thorough investigation, 14-year-old Stefanie Damron is still missing, according to Maine State Police officials on Tuesday.

Authorities stated that Stefanie, who was 13 when she vanished on September 23, was last seen leaving her home in New Sweden and entering the woods on West Road.

Investigators from the Maine State Police’s Major Crimes Unit North and Troop F started looking into Stefanie’s disappearance.

In order to make sure that every resource was used in the search for Stefanie, the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team and the MSP Computer Crimes Unit were also called upon.

According to investigators, they have followed up on leads in Maine, the country, and Canada, and they have conducted several interviews.

Large tracts of land in Aroostook County, close to Stefanie’s last known location, have also been searched by the Maine Warden Service and Maine State Police K-9 Unit.

According to officials, the FBI’s CARD Team and the MSP Major Crimes Unit will continue their investigation into the case.

Police estimate Stefanie’s height at five feet and weight at around 130 pounds. When she was last seen, her brown hair was shoulder length, and she had green eyes.

According to the police, Stefanie was last spotted sporting black Harley Davidson hiking boots, blue trousers, and a long-sleeved blue shirt.
