On Wednesday night, a roller coaster struck a 38-year-old guy at an amusement park in Mason, Ohio, seriously injuring him.
A spokesman for the park stated in a statement that the guy had entered a fenced-in, restricted area of Kings Island near the Banshee roller coaster “and is believed to have been struck by the ride” at around 8 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, the man was taken to the hospital by the park’s first aid and safety personnel.

The individual was still listed as critically ill by the police as of Thursday morning.
Cincinnati ABC station WCPO reported that a witness stated the man informed a park staffer he needed to return to retrieve something he had misplaced on the ride.
The man proceeded to stroll around the ride and eventually passed through a restricted gate, despite the employee’s claims that he would be unable to stop him until the attraction closed, according to WCPO.
The witness said WCPO that because the man was dressed like park employees, some may have assumed he was an employee.
According to a park representative, the Banshee roller coaster will be closed as authorities look into the event.
“Kings Island’s focus continues to be on the welfare of the guest and his family,” they stated.
