Investigators are looking into a shooting that happened in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday night in the downtown area, which left eleven people injured.
Just before midnight, in Ellis Square, a mainstay of Savannah’s historic area and a well-liked tourist destination, there was gunfire.
According to a press release from the Savannah Police Department on Sunday morning, multiple precincts were dispatched around 11:55 p.m. in response to reports of gunfire in the vicinity.
Detectives were still looking into the event at the time and had spoken with witnesses as part of their investigation. No suspects have been named by Savannah police, and no arrests have been made in relation to the crime.
The police agency stated that all of the victims of the shooting, including those who were shot, are adults.
A portion of the injured were taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center after leaving the scene.

While providing no information regarding the type or severity of those wounds, police stated in a news statement on Sunday that “as of now, no deaths have occurred because of the incident.”
They said that the shooting was thought to have injured at least ten persons. The 11 individuals underwent treatment for their injuries last night, and according to the police, none of them were life-threatening.
