Police claim that a 27-year-old South Florida man abused a teenage girl who fled her home, and he is now being charged with a felony.
Leonel Keenan Labranche was under house arrest, according to Miami-Dade police, when he approached the 13-year-old, who was strolling down the street after escaping on January 9, and extended an invitation for her to stay at his house on Northwest 83rd Terrace in the West Little River neighborhood of the county.
When she stayed at his place, the two allegedly performed sexual acts on each other and used marijuana, according to the police.
According to an arrest complaint, Labranche became worried that the child might have a sexually transmitted infection on January 12 and transported her to Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines.
Labranche was found on Friday, according to the police, and during an interview with detectives, he admitted to the charges.
Labranche has been charged with lewd and lascivious molestation, adding to his list of offenses that includes various felonies linked to domestic violence in connection with different instances.
His house arrest was imposed due to allegations that he sold cocaine and misused a two-way communications device. As of Monday morning, he was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade.
