MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a sexual battery suspect who, according to the investigators, raped a female victim nearly two weeks ago.
After getting off a Miami Dade Transit bus at the Omni Station at about 5 a.m. on May 7, a woman was traveling northbound on Biscayne Boulevard near Northeast 32nd Street when a guy grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth with a towel, and pulled her into an empty parking lot, as reported by the Miami police.
The defendant allegedly raped the girl while covering her mouth with a rag to prevent her from screaming for help, according to the detectives who said the victim told them that there was a tarp on the ground under some trees in the lot when the incident occurred.
Police say that the victim fought back and bit the suspect in the hand during their investigation. During the course of the event, the victim sustained cuts on both of her lips as well as damage to the left side of her jaw.
According to the authorities, the victim managed to get away at the first possible chance and then dialed 911.
The suspect and the clothing he wore during the rape as well as the clothing he changed into immediately after the crime in order to evade authorities were captured on surveillance footage and sent to the victim by the investigating officers.
The suspect is said to be a man who is 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and has a lean yet strong physique.
The guy allegedly had a dialect that was either Haitian or African, according to the police. In addition to the fact that he was bald at the time of the incident, he had earlobes that are unmistakably shaped like an L.
