On Thursday, more sunlight broke through the clouds, which was mirrored by the warm weather. Though it didn’t rain much and we were warmer than yesterday, all of that is about to change.

As Thursday morning approaches, look for cloudier skies with a possibility of patchy fog the further east you go. Over the past 30 years, there has only been one day with heavy fog in July, making it incredibly uncommon.

Wednesday morning brought with it heavy fog, especially in the places that had recently seen rain. It is anticipated that the fog will clear by Thursday morning. Later on, further rain is expected to occur. The outlook for Thursday afternoon is for a 30% possibility of storms.

On Friday, similar conditions are anticipated as a mid-level low passes across East Texas and heads north.

This weekend will see the continuation of the unusually cold July weather. We are still under the influence of an upper-air trough that is sandwiched between two regions of high pressure, one to the west and one to the southeast.

The disturbance will continue to move north as the weekend’s second half approaches. Temperatures will return to normal as the two regions of high pressure combine and expand over the central and southern United States.

97 degrees is the typical temperature for this time of year. By Monday, we’ll get there, or very close to it, and it will only get hotter from there.

Saturday and Sunday afternoon storm chances are not very high. Following that, the typical summer weather for this time of year will be hot and dry.
