After a multi-vehicle crash in Utah last week, four Minnesotans and one more person lost their lives.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the fatal series of incidents happened on Thursday close to Price, Utah. A silver SUV traveling east on Highway 6 came to a stop on Spring Glen Road.

The driver of the silver SUV then tried to enter the acceleration lane but missed it and raced in the direction of a semi-truck.

After attempting evasive maneuvers, the truck driver lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic coming from the west. The Nissan SUV was forced onto a rock embankment after the vehicle traveling the wrong way struck it.

Inside the Nissan SUV were four Minnesotans who lost their lives. The individuals were recognized as Sang Her, age 56, Lee Thao, age 38, Bee Moua, age 26, and Mai Lor, age 25.

Moua and Lor were from St. Paul; she and Thao were from Brooklyn Center.

The highway patrol did not identify the Minnesotan who was pregnant.

The collision also claimed the life of a neighboring ATV rider who was struck by a bullet while traveling westward. They were recognized as a Helper, Utah, inhabitant of 35 years old.
