The family of the actress who is most recognized for her appearances on “Gossip Girl” has acknowledged that the search was fruitless, and questions over a strange incident involving a “missing” actress are almost resolved.
The family of Chanel Banks, who starred in the adolescent drama and “Blue Bloods,” reported her missing from her Playa Vista home on November 8. Police said she appeared in Texas a few days later.
In Instagram photos on Wednesday, Banks confirmed what her husband told earlier in the day: she went to Texas to be baptized by her favorite preacher and to “escape” from the family who reported her missing.
“Please do not donate to any GoFundMe that says I am missing,” according to the post. “I am not missing.”
Danielle-Tori Singh, Banks’ cousin, coordinated and promoted that GoFundMe, but it has since been removed.
Singh criticized media sources for reporting that the lady seen on an officer’s body camera was not her cousin when it first surfaced that the Los Angeles Police Department had verified that Banks had been located by authorities in Texas.
Singh persisted in that assertion until late Thursday evening, when Banks revealed that she was taping a television interview in a little video that she uploaded on YouTube.
As she was getting her makeup done for the interview with an unidentified television station, Banks declared, “As you can see, I am alive.” “Loading the interview.”
The family verified that Banks was located three hours before to the video’s publication, Singh wrote on Facebook.
Singh added that all donations made to the now-deleted GoFundMe would be reimbursed after acknowledging that Banks had been located and was still alive. For the non-missing person’s hunt, thousands of dollars were raised.
Banks wrote on Instagram that she wanted to “escape” her mother and her mother’s family when she announced that she was safe and alive. She said she was sexually abused by her stepfather and accused the family of being “fame hungry.”

Banks states near the end of the post that she stopped communicating because she and her husband’s family were pursuing a conservatorship.
Banks claimed that she didn’t communicate with Singh very often. Singh has subsequently refuted this claim with screenshots of text messages that she allegedly exchanged with Banks.
The time and location of Banks’ television interview are still unknown as of Friday afternoon.
