A bus crash in Mississippi resulted in seven fatalities and numerous injuries.
According to a news release from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, authorities were called to the incident in Warren County, Mississippi, at approximately 12:40 in the morning.
The bus went off the freeway and overturned while it was heading west on Interstate 20. What caused the bus to pull off the road was not disclosed by the authorities.
According to the MHP, one individual passed away at Merit Health Hospital in Vicksburg, and six others were declared dead at the scene.
A total of thirty-seven people were sent to nearby hospitals in Jackson and Vicksburg due to “unknown injuries,” according to the MHP. None of the passengers on the bus were carried, including the co-driver.
All victims’ identities have remained a secret. In the collision, no other cars were engaged.

Investigations into the collision are being conducted by the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
