Following a shooting incident on Royal Court Lane, which resulted in the death of a man, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation.
ShotSpotter reported that there were gunshots in the vicinity at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night, which prompted officers to rush to the area.
According to the detectives, the first reason officers responded to the area was because ShotSpotter reported gunshots.
The next thing they knew, they got a call informing them that someone had been shot. After arriving at the scene, the officers discovered a man who had been shot and was suffering from the wound.
The man was taken to a local hospital by members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, but he did not survive his stay there.
An continuing investigation is being carried out by personnel from the Homicide and Crime Scene sections of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
