Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) resumed her vehement statements after questioning congressional witness Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, at the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic hearing.
“The Democrats are responsible for the lockdowns, forced vaccinations, kids being forced to stay home, people committing suicide, and all of the horrors that this country lived through during COVID,” Greene stated.
“You belong in prison,” the Georgia representative angrily told Fauci during the hearing earlier in the day.
Legislators questioned the 83-year-old immunologist about his leadership over the lab leak theory, vaccination mandates, and pandemic advice on masking.

During the hearing, Greene and Fauci also had disagreements because she wouldn’t call him by the honorific “doctor,” preferring to call him “Mr. Fauci.”
“Mr. Fauci — because you’re not ‘doctor’; you’re Mr. Fauci in my few minutes … that man does not deserve to have a license. As a matter of fact, it should be revoked, and he belongs in prison,” she stated.
“In terms of the rules of decorum, are we allowed to deny that a doctor is a doctor just because we don’t want him to be a doctor?” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) retaliated against Greene.
Greene insisted on calling him a “doctor” and pushed him for social distancing policies and mask requirements for students in schools.
