Police in Seattle, Washington, said they have caught a lunatic who stabbed nine people in a series of sporadic attacks over two days.
According to the Seattle Police Department, the unidentified culprit stabbed the victims over the course of 38 hours in an area around four blocks in the city’s Chinatown-International District.
Four people were sent to Harborview Medical Center as a result of the sporadic stabbings.
According to the Associated Press, all of those individuals were in severe condition when they arrived at the hospital, and as of Friday night, two of them are still in critical condition.
As of Friday, one victim had been upgraded to satisfactory condition, and another to serious condition.
According to authorities, one of those victims, a 53-year-old man, was severely bleeding after being stabbed in the neck. As part of their investigation, police tracked down the victim’s blood trail, SPD Blotter said.
The attacker attacked five individuals on Friday, according to Seattle police, and is also suspected of four further stabbings that occurred in the same neighborhood on Thursday.
Similar crime profiles and suspect descriptions led Deputy Chief Eric Barden to conclude that the same man was behind the attacks on both days.
Barden stated at the crime site on Friday, “This incident was apparently one individual over a 38-hour period of time committing random assaults,” according to the station.
SPD claimed that witness descriptions helped them identify the culprit. According to the AP, he was discovered close by carrying a weapon. According to police, a 37-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, and a 53-year-old woman were all stabbed several times in the Chinatown area on Thursday.

“The stabbings in Little Saigon and the Chinatown-International District are horrific, appalling, and shouldn’t occur anywhere in our city,” Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell stated.
“Every person deserves to feel and be safe, and I remain committed to using every tool available to improve the safety of Little Saigon and the historic Chinatown-International District for all residents, workers, and visitors,” according to the mayor.
It’s possible that the madman’s rampage includes a tenth stabbing on Thursday night. According to police, a 60-year-old man was sitting in his car when an attacker attempted to take his phone. The victim managed to block the attacker’s blade as it was aimed for his chest with his hand.
