Ohio State University officials reported that a person fell to their death from the stands on Sunday during the university’s graduation ceremony. As the final graduates filed into Ohio Stadium at noon, the fall occurred, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
The location was roped off by police. It was unclear right away if the fall was deliberate or accidental, or if it included the student or someone else.
The university was aware of the fatality, but spokeswoman Benjamin Johnson stated in an email that there was nothing more the university could say about what transpired.
WBNS, a CBS station, said that a representative said in a statement, “For anyone affected by today’s incident, we will make counseling and other support resources available.”
