Three individuals from out of town were captured after engaging in a series of shoplifting incidents at various local stores.
On Friday afternoon, the shoplifting spree occurred at three stores in Lady Lake Crossing: Kohl’s, ULTA Beauty, and Sportsman’s Warehouse. Additionally, they targeted Belk at La Plaza Grande in The Villages.
According to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department, Delandria Richardson, a 24-year-old from Jacksonville, was observed concealing merchandise in her purse at Kohl’s.
She attempted to hide in a backroom of the store amidst the clothing. Despite being instructed to come out with her hands up, she refused to comply. As the officer prepared his tasing device, Richardson tried to snatch it from his hand.
As a result, she was struck in the chest by the taser’s probes. She was subsequently taken to UF Health-The Villages Hospital for medical treatment.
Another individual involved in the incident, Dyamond Johnson, a 21-year-old also from Jacksonville, apparently sought to evade arrest by hiding in the ladies’ room at Kohl’s.
Upon an officer’s announcement and entrance into the bathroom, Johnson was discovered hiding in a stall. She resisted attempts to place her in handcuffs.
Derrius Jordan, a 26-year-old from Jacksonville, is suspected of stealing multiple bottles of Millionaire Men’s Cologne from Belk, with a total value exceeding $1,000. Jordan and the two women fled Belk in a Dodge Charger but were later apprehended at Kohl’s.
All three individuals were subsequently booked at the Lake County Jail.
