Police Arrest Woman with Fentanyl Cache at Buffalo Ridge Plaza McDonald's

Brittany Lynn McDougal, age 29, originally from Summerfield, was taken into custody at the McDonald’s restaurant in The Villages that is situated within the Buffalo Ridge Plaza.

On Wednesday morning about ten o’clock, a motorist alerted a Sumter County sheriff’s officer to an incident that was taking place in the parking lot of a neighboring Walmart by flashing a signal for assistance.

The deputy subsequently located Brittany Lynn McDougal in the parking lot of the restaurant. According to the police report, she was “immediately agitated and confrontational.”

It appeared as though she was attempting to conceal something in her jeans. They found that she was in possession of a piece of tinfoil that contained fentanyl.

When the deputy attempted to place her under custody, she put up a fight.

McDougal was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of drug-related materials, attempting to conceal evidence, and resisting arrest for his alleged involvement in the incident.

She was arrested and booked into the Sumter County Detention Center, where her bond was set at $5,000.
