HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.— After leading police authorities on a high-speed chase through Hillsborough County on Wednesday, two individuals are now incarcerated as a result of their actions.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Jacari Arnold, age 36, and Devada Hines, both age 36, are suspected of breaking into motor vehicles in the cities of Orlando and Tampa and stealing items.
Following a traffic stop in Hillsborough County, the two suspects evaded capture and caused the local law enforcement agency to form a task force with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol in order to locate the two fugitives.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has released drone footage in which the suspects are seen driving a white sedan while being pursued by six troopers. After some time, a highway patrol trooper was able to catch up with the two suspects and bring them to a stop. A video shows their automobile flipping over as the patrol vehicle pushes them off the road.
The two suspects are then seen being taken into custody by Florida Highway Patrol officers.
During the arrests, several purses, fifteen Florida driver’s licenses, one passport, and roughly seventy credit cards and gift cards were found, according to the deputies. Also found were a number of credit cards and gift cards.
“These men were reckless and put the lives of hundreds of drivers in danger,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. Together, the patrol and aircraft teams were successful in removing these potentially hazardous offenders from our town and maintaining public safety as a result.
Both Arnold and Hines were charged with burglary of a conveyance, possession of burglary tools, and fleeing to elude at a high rate of speed when they were apprehended while fleeing the scene of the crime in a vehicle.
