Broward County police are looking for a guy who they think attempted to kidnap a fifteen-year-old girl and hold her at gunpoint.

The girl managed to escape without any injuries and provided authorities with a description of the man, which led to the creation of a drawing.

Just before 7 a.m. on Thursday, surveillance footage showed a gray sedan driven by the individual shown in the sketch, according to the police.

The girl is seen on the footage walking to school as the automobile approaches from behind.

Deputies claim that at that point, the male urged the girl to get into his car. Refusing, the girl kept walking west on Northwest 12th Court, close to Second Avenue.

The man driving fled eastward, but the girl fled when she saw the gun, according to deputies.

The male had facial hair, was wearing a black gym short and white tank top, and is estimated to be between the ages of 20 and 35 at the time of the event.

Police officers from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and local residents are hoping that the sketch may provide information that would enable them to find the man.

Broward Crime Stoppers’ hotline is 954-493-TIPS. Anyone with information or who believes they might know him is asked to call.
