Restaurant Owner in Pembroke Pines Arrested for Alleged Animal Cruelty

The proprietor of a well-known restaurant in South Florida is being accused of being cruel to animals after the death of a dog at her home in Pembroke Pines over the weekend. According to the police, the dog had been left outside on a leash for several hours.

Sheena Vandyke, age 40, was taken into custody by the police on Saturday. She is the proprietor of the well-known iKrave, which operates both a restaurant in Miami’s Liberty City and a food truck in PortMiami.

Pembroke Pines Police got a phone call from an unknown caller reporting a dog that seemed to be lifeless and was lying in a backyard, as stated in the arrest record.

After responding to the call, the officer located the deceased brown French bulldog in the yard.

According to the report, when Vandyke returned home, she informed the police that she had cleaning personnel come to the house, so before leaving, she put the dog in the backyard on a leash, chained it to the ground, and made sure it had food and water.

According to the complaint, there was food all over the place, but the water bowl had been turned upside down.

According to the study, the dog was confined in one location for an extended period of time while being subjected to extreme heat and sunlight. “The dog’s leash was completely stretched out at the point where it appears there was a struggle in an attempt to free itself and find shade or water.”

A necropsy was performed on the dog after it was removed from the scene and transported.

After being taken into custody, Vandyke was given a booking number. She was granted a bond in the amount of $5,000 but was told not to possess any animals during her appearance in court. There was no information on attorneys that could be found.

An intimate friend of the family who spoke with NBC6 on Monday stated that the dog’s death was the result of a tragic accident and that the cleaning team typically brings the dog inside once they are through working outside.

“It was an accident, a tragic accident that she is very hurt about and wishes there was something she could do about it but unfortunately, it was a bad accident,” said the guy, who only wanted to be identified by his first name, John.

“It was an accident that she is very hurt about and wishes there was something she could do about it but unfortunately, it was a bad accident.” “I don’t think the people in charge of cleaning meant any harm, they probably just forgot about it,” you might say.

According to John, the family is inconsolable over the death of the dog, a French bulldog named Frenchie who was 2 years old.

“The dog is almost a member of the family. “It’s a shame that she has to go through that because the dog is always there with her and the children,” he said. “She had a special bond with the dog.”

“It’s very painful for her because all she did was leave, see the dog one last time, and then come back to the house, only to find that the dog had been taken away,” you say. “She’s heartbroken and confused because all she did was leave.”
